Students celebrate SPACE INVADERS © Taito Corporation, 30th Birthday
Calling all budding Gaming developers!
On the 13th March games publishing companies from around the globe will be visiting Tipperary Institutes, Thurles Campus, for the XNA Ireland Challenge 2008 to judge Student SPACE INVADER creations. Students are being asked to produce their own version of the classic game, honoring the title that resulting in a coin shortage in Japan upon its release in 1978. Already a number of international games publishers have said they would like to use the event as an opportunity to spot new games development talent and are very excited about reviewing the student creations. The XNA Ireland Challenge was officially launched at Microsoft's XNA European Tour in Trinity Colleges on the 26th November. The event was attended by over 320 academics and students who have since expressed interest in becoming involved in the XNA Ireland Challenge event.
To help students get started they can download tools and a starter from from the event website at http://www.xna.ie.
