Massive Increase in Student Numbers at Tipperary Institute
Tipperary Institute’s new academic year is off to the best possible start with new student numbers up a massive 33%.
This increase comes on top of the record number of new students enrolled at the Institute in 2008.
Over the last two years the number of students accepting places at Tipperary Institute through the CAO has more than doubled.
The majority of students have enrolled on Honours degree programmes in Accounting and Finance, Business, Creative Multimedia, Games Design and Development, Environmental and Natural Resource Management, and Social and Community Studies.
According to Gary Prosser, TI Director of Development and Academic Affairs, Tipperary Institute is out-performing its competitors with higher rates of growth than other Colleges. “The economic situation has increased third level enrolments across the sector, but we are especially pleased at the strong performance of our programmes” he said.
“The key to TI’s dramatic growth in student numbers over the last two years has been a commitment to the development of attractive new programmes that are relevant to the needs of graduates in today’s challenging economic environment. We believe the impressive increase in student numbers indicates the important role of the Institute in providing higher education for the region, and is a clear vote of confidence in our future” said Gary Prosser.
Further new courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level are being planned and the Institute is determined to maintain its impressive rate of growth in student numbers.
