Tipperary School wins Mid West Regional Final of Sunday Business Post Business 2000 Table Quiz

 

Tipperary Institute Business Department joined forces with the Business Studies Teachers Association of Ireland and the Sunday Business Post 2000 yet again to provide second level students of the mid-west region with an opportunity to display their business knowledge at a Table Quiz designed for second year students. Students representing twenty one schools and seven different counties travelled to Tipperary Institute, Thurles Campus on Thursday last to battle it out for the prestigious Sunday Business Post Business 2000/Tipperary Institute / BSTAI Table Quiz 2010 prize-winners title.

 

Taking learning out of the classroom, and adding an element of fun was the key objective of the day with teams of four tested on key Junior Certificate business fundamentals in addition to general knowledge. Coveted first prize went to
the CBS High School Clonmel , while  Loreto, Kilkenny and St. Augustine’s College, Dungarvan  followed a close second and third respectively. Prizes were presented by Mayor of Thurles, Evelyn Nevin.

 

Commenting on the Table Quiz, Ms. Mary O’Sullivan, national president of the BSTAI stated “ the BSTAI are delighted to renew our association with the Sunday Business Post Business 2000 and Tippeary Intitute in holding the business quiz. This quiz is following the very successful quiz that Tippeary Institute held last year. It has proved to be an informative, educational, enjoyable and entertaining day for Junior
Business Studies students across the mid west.” The Table Quiz is one of many events organised by Tipperary Institute Business Department in conjunction with the BSTAI Thurles for students of the region.
