Coupled with marketing subjects, students will also learn other essential business disciplines including; management, finance, communications and information management, thus ensuring graduates are equipped with a broad understanding of the business environment. With a growing customer sophistication and a more competitive economic environment, organisations are placing increased emphasis on marketing as a business activity and have become more systematic, measured and planned in their marketing activity, and are spending more and spending longer persuading a new breed of educated, street-wise and ‘media savvy’ consumers. Many voluntary bodies and public service organisations such as colleges, hospitals and other public service organisations are now also adopting professional marketing approaches to enhance customer response and to improve their services, ensuring that there will be a need for graduates with the multidisciplinary skills this course offers. The CAO course code is TI121, a three year Level 7 option is also available TI111.

A new two year Higher Certificate in Business and Office Management will also be available at Clonmel in September, providing students with an opportunity to learn the essential business and information technology skills required to work in an office environment. Highly practical in nature, graduates of the course will be equipped with a broad skill-set enabling them to work in an administration capacity in any organisation. On successful completion of this course, graduates can also progress to the Level 7 Bachelor of Business Degree and onto the Level 8 Honours Degree thereafter. Application for the course is through the CAO, course code TI105.
