Sowing the Seeds of Enterprise

The business department in conjunction with North Tipperary County Enterprise Board are holding Enterprise Days as part of the Enterprise Awareness Programme which is an enterprise education programme designed for second level schools in North Tipperary.

The programme is suitable for transition year, LCVP link module (Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme) and LCA students (Leaving Certificate
Applied) and is complimentary to the Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) and other County Enterprise Board student awards initiatives.

The aim of the programme is to develop a spirit of enterprise in secondary students and to foster entrepreneurship and encourage initiative and originality. Through the programme students will be encouraged to establish real life business concepts and to participate in enterprise competitions at school, county and national level.
Enterprise Days allow students the opportunity to develop an understanding of the necessary skills required in setting up and running a business. Participating students also get the opportunity to interact with local entrepreneurs.

Tipperary Institute is supporting North Tipperary County Enterprise
Board and their Enterprise Days again this year.   The events will take
place on three dates this year - Tuesday 29 September, Wednesday 14 October and Thursday 15 October at our Thurles campus.

Due to phenomenal demand and the success of the event in recent years the business department have organised three days to ensure that all secondary students in North Tipperary get the opportunity to participate in the high profile event. Staff in the business department are assisting with the smooth operation of these events including the conduct of workshops with students focusing on developing their business ideas.
