Newstalk 106-108fm Student Enterprise Competition

The local launch of the Newstalk 106-108fm Student Enterprise Competition will take place in the conference centre, Thurles, on Wednesday 7th October at 12.00pm. Competition organisers will support the launch by giving a short presentation about the history and aims of the competition and all are welcome to attend.

This prestigious third level competition is exclusive to the 14 Institutes of Technology in Ireland, Tipperary Institute and the National College of Ireland. The competition was launched in September 2006 and is now entering its fourth year. The overall objective is to cultivate early stage entrepreneurship as well as support and celebrate students with an understanding of and appreciation for business management. The competition is designed for all undergraduate students across all faculties.

Last October, over 250 teams of 4 students entered the competition and the team from National College of Ireland was selected as the winning team at the finals in January 2009. Their prize was an all expenses paid study trip to Digicel Communications Group based in the Caribbean. The Team from Tipperary Institute did exceptionally well in reaching the semi-finals.
