On Tuesday the 31st of March, over 500 primary school children attended the Extreme Engineering Show. Three showings took place in the conference centre. Thankfully, the smoke alarm did not go off until the very end of the last show. The dragon did it! (See photo) The event, which was formally known as the Magical Science Show, encourages children to engage in science and engineering activities. The show, due to its popularity, is now held twice a year. Feedback from the three events was excellent, from both students and teachers.

 

The event was organised in conjunction with Engineers Ireland as part of the Steps to Engineering initiative. Thanks to Micheal Fogarty, Austin Cooney, Paul Fennessy and Paddy Maguire for all their help.
