Tipperary Institute to host national Parents’ Conference

On Saturday 6th March, Tipperary Institute will play host once again to the annual conference of the Parents’ Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools (PACCS).

PACCSEstablished in 1984, the Parents’ Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools acts as the one national organisation for the Parents’ Associations of Community and Comprehensive Schools across the country. The aim of the association is to give parents a strong voice in educational matters within their schools and at a national level. There are 92 Community and Comprehensive schools across the country.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Embracing the Future’ and once again PACCS has engaged a diverse range of speakers for the event including Ciaran Flynn, General Secretary, Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools, Barnie O’Callaghan, CEO, An Gaisce, Jim Moore, President of the National Parents’ Council (Post Primary) and Moya Breen, Director of Business at Tipperary Institute.

This is the second year that the annual conference has been hosted by TI and the President of PACCS, Tommy Walsh has expressed his delight that the conference will be hosted again this year by the Institute, allowing parents of second level students an opportunity to experience a vibrant, third level college campus. Mr. Walsh also pointed to Tipperary Institute’s state of the art conference facilities, coupled with the central and accessible location of the college, as key to the assured success of the conference.
