Tipperary Institute Selects Team to go Through to Semi-Final of the Newstalk 106-108fm Student Enterprise Competition

Friday, 4th December, 2009 – Following the local final of the Newstalk 106-108fm Student Enterprise Competition at Tipperary Institute yesterday, a team of students has been chosen to represent the college at the national semi-final of the competition in January. Enterprise Awareness Programme
The Enterprise Awareness Programme introduced in 2003 is designed specifically for second level schools in North and South Tipperary. The programme is suitable for transition year, LCVP link modules and LCA students and is complimentary to the Student Enterprise Awards (SEA) and other County Enterprise Board schools initiatives. The programme is delivered by Tipperary Institute Business Specialists on behalf of Tipperary North and South County Enterprise Boards who fund this programme intended to encourage entrepreneurial activity among young people in the county.
Tipperary Institute has played host to over 2,000 secondary school students, allowing students in North and South Tipperary the opportunity to participate in Enterprise Day. Enterprise Day is an initiative which incorporates presentations, group workshops and networking in an effort to achieve the overall objective of instilling an enterprise culture in young students. All workshops are developed and delivered by the staff of the Business Department at both the Tipperary Institute Thurles and Clonmel Campuses.

 


 

Future Business Leaders of Ireland
The launch of the Future Business Leaders of Ireland association, which took place at Tipperary Institute on Friday 6th March 2009, was suitably unveiled by one of Ireland’s current business leaders, Bill Cullen in his inspirational and memorable way.
The event set out to publicize the association’s aims and objectives and how these would be identified with by a recognized business leader in Ireland – Bill Cullen. As a student led body and organization it provided the Future Business Leaders of Ireland (FBLI) student committee in Tipperary Institute with an opportunity to lead the marketing and planning associated with this inaugural and prestigious FBLI event.  More...
